The Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain was formed in 1977 as a direct result of changing attitudes toward pike. For far too long pike had been regarded by fishery owners and some anglers as vermin, to be killed and removed at all costs. Since its inception, the PAC has done much to drastically change this mistaken attitude and pike are now widely regarded as a positive element in the natural balance of any fishery. Like any other fish, pike should be respected and valued for their sporting potential and should be returned to the water alive and well. Thanks to the work of the PAC many more waters are beginning to realize their pike fishing potential. |

The PAC is organised into Regional Associations, usually centred on a town or borough. There are around 70 RAs run by experienced pike anglers. The RA's have a varied membership of both experienced and inexperienced anglers. Each RA holds regular very informal and sociable meetings to discuss piking. The PAC have privileged access/charity events on waters such as Keilder and Derwent water, Llandegfedd and Wakefield Country Park Reservoirs, Thorpe Park Lakes and The Lake of Menteith as well as the River Wye and more. Public Liability insurance is included with your PAC membership at no extra cost (UK members only) and discounts for accommodation at Comfort and Friendly Hotels for members travelling in the UK and parts of Ireland on business or just for pleasure. The PAC has it's own unique range of top quality clothing, badges, books and other items, not forgetting back-issues of Pikelines. Various 'exclusive to PAC' products are released from time to time.
